Here's a little blast from the past. This was the very first story I actually finished. It's out order but I didn't change any of the writing so there's tons of mistakes. I really want to redo this book because it's a good story but it's terrible writing in some places. So I gave you a taste some of what I thought was good writing when I was about 11. Try to guess what the story is about!
Prolog
The prophesy
When the sixth moon comes and the moon
is red,
Then you shall know truth I have said.
With hair of flame and eyes of the
trees,
Comes a maiden, who is a master of seas.
Though she will be unlikely, she holds
the royal ring,
She is our rightful ruler, older sister
to the king.
-Plithe the British snow dragon
The
woman staggered to the bank of the little stream she had played in as a child. She
fell down and lay in the cool water but soon remembered her purpose and she
rolled out of the stream. She tied a gag around her mouth and then put both
hands on the broken arrow shaft in her back and pulled. Seat and tears of pain
poured down her face but in a moment the arrow was finally free. She tried to
staunch the flow of blood but then she realized that she had made a mistake in
removing the arrow without proper care. She slowly pushed the basket she had
been carrying toward the stream, the basket that was the reason she had come
here, and she knew that the basket was the whole future of this country. She
lifted the lid and stared into the face of a two-year old baby girl. Even
though the woman knew she was doing the right thing she was saddened to see the
little princess be taken away by the stream. “Be safe tiny princess although
this revolution is not over, I know someday you will return to this country and
set things to right. Farwell Tennille” she said. And with tears in her eyes she
placed her letter explaining who this baby was in the basket replaced the lid
and with her last strength pushed it into the stream.
Chapter three
Aboard the blood tide
Blackbeard
introduced Christy to the rest of the crew “this is Ten” he said in his great
booming voice. The crew all had nicknames like Peg Leg Joe, One-eyed Pete, and
Wet John. Then from the cabin that Blackbeard said was the captain’s cabin came
a man that frightened Christy or Ten as she was now called. The man that
stepped forward had willed brown hair that was topped with black pirate’s cap,
his eyes were hazel but stonily cold, his face was scarred and he had only one
ear. His black coat was concealing an array of pistols, blunderbusses’, sharp
thronging daggers, and a long sharp sword witch he now unsheathed. He pointed
his gold-hilted sword at Ten and said “who is, this you scurvy dogs” all men
except for Blackbeard stepped back in fright. “This is Ten captain” he said
saluting “I thought she might be useful as a cabin girl” “what” the captain
shouted “you hired someone without my permission” “no captain, I took her here
to get your permission” said Blackbeard “permission not granted” said the
captain hardly waiting to hear what Blackbeard was saying. The captain started
to turn away and then he stopped and looked at Ten, “well she may be of some
use to us” he said “how old is she?” asked the captain “ten” answered Black
Beard “well she must be at least twelve to be a cabin girl” said the captain
“that’s why I thought to train her up now and when the time comes she will be
your cabin girl” said Black Beard. The captain thought for a moment “very well”
he said “but I will put you in charge of her Black Beard” “yes captain” said
Blackbeard and without another word the captain returned to his cabin.
blunderbusses actually exist!:0
ReplyDeleteI know, my big brother is an expert on weapons and he actually gave me that one.
ReplyDeleteI read about them into another book. A book that made me scream into my pillow for an hour. (Why did the stupid author even put that in!) I was kind of glad when the one character finally died.(evil grin.)
